Calls for Proposals – Patient Engagement
CHSRF recognizes the importance of including patients in discussions and decisions about their care. Research shows that patient-centred care, with its focus on patient preference and experience, is a key to improving the delivery of health services. The purpose of the Patient Engagement Projects (PEP) initiative is to support activities that improve the quality of care by engaging patients in the design, delivery and evaluation of health services.
CHSRF is funding up to six Patient Engagement Projects (as much as $100,000 each for a maximum total of $600,000). Project teams must be led by a decision-maker and must complete their work within two years.

CHSRF is also commissioning a research team to determine lessons learned from the overall PEP initiative, and to document promising practices arising from the Patient Engagement Projects. CHSRF will provide up to $125,000 in funding over a 30-month period for this research.
